New Vince Album set to drop in August

ALBUM NEWS:  Vince Gill is set to release his new album, ‘Okie,’ on Aug. 23.  The word ‘Okie’ was once a derogatory term to refer to inhabitants of Oklahoma who migrated to the west coast as a result of the Dust Bowl and the Great Depression. Gill is an Oklahoma native and has proudly appropriated the term for the upcoming album that embraces his Oklahoma roots.  Gill wrote or co-wrote all 12 tracks on the album.  “I thought this was going to be a songwriter record, not a concept album,” Gill says. “It wound up being more information than I’d envisioned.”    Pre-order the album now at www.vincegill.com.

Brett Young launches Acoustic Sessions videos

ARTIST NEWS:  Brett Young has launched “Acoustic Sessions,” a video series delivering stripped-down performances of hits and album cuts from his chart-topping sophomore album Ticket to LA (BMLG Records). Available now, the debut installment “Here Tonight” features co-writer Lady Antebellum’s Charles Kelley, collaborating for an acoustic spin on the multi-week chart-topper, surpassing 100 million streams. Additional “Acoustic Sessions” videos will be unveiled in the coming months.  Ticket to LA, debuted atop the Billboard Country Albums chart and follows his PLATINUM self-titled debut, which dominated the Top 20 on the Country Albums chart for 37 weeks.  More info at www.BrettYoungMusic.com

John Paul White is The Hurting Kind

GRAMMY NEWS:  Grammy Award winner John Paul White is set to continue his North American tour in support of his new solo album The Hurting Kind (out now on Single Lock Records) with a run of newly-confirmed Midwest performances kicking off July 12 at the Woody Guthrie Folk Festival. Leading up to the sessions for The Hurting Kind, White sought out classic writers like Whisperin’ Bill Anderson and Bobby Braddock to collaborate with. “Coming out of each and every one of these situations, I got a resounding thumbs-up that I was on that right track,” says White of the collaborations. “I didn’t need anybody else’s approval after that.” Music and tour dates at www.johnpaulwhite.com.

Zach Stone offers “Hands On” track

INDIE NEWS:  Country recording artist Zach Stone (Whetstone Music Ventures) kicks off the summer season with the release of a sultry new tune titled “Hands On.” Already impacting country radio, the track follows the success and momentum of Stone’s debut single, “Sorry & Lonely,” which ranked in the Top 50 on the MusicRow Charts.  Produced by Matt Billingslea (Taylor Swift), the subtly, flirtatious track is revved by heart-pounding drum beats, electrified by rockin’ guitar solos and enlivened by a “put-your-hands-together,” sing-along chorus.  The single will be available via major digital retail outlets and streaming platforms on Friday, June 21, 2019.
